The Stabber Killed Three People in an Extremely Multicultural City

The day's news in Finland (Yle, Ilta-Sanomat, Etelä-Suomen Sanomat) reported on a terrorist attack that took place at the "Festival of Diversity" in the German city of Solingen, where three people were fatally stabbed. Additionally, four other people were injured.

The terrorist was a male, but I couldn’t find any more specific details in the Finnish media. However, there is a claim circulating on social media that the attacker was an "Arab immigrant." Time will tell whether this claim is true or not.

There was also a credible claim on social media that, in the same city of Solingen, an African man attempted to set fire to a restaurant owned by someone of Arab descent at the end of June. However, something went wrong, and the arsonist ended up setting only himself on fire.

The city's population is very diverse, as already in 2020, around 35 percent of the population was non-ethnic Germans. The largest population groups were Italians, Turks, and Syrians, but people from as many as 140 different countries lived in the city. Among children under the age of three, a full 56 percent had a migration background, so it won't be long before ethnic Germans become a minority in the city.

One can only hope that the stabber is caught as soon as possible and receives the deserved punishment for his crime. And that the Germans channel any potential frustration with the new Germans democratically—by voting in the upcoming elections for politicians who know how to solve the immigration problem that has arisen in the country.

Hopefully, for us Finns and other Europeans, this case shows that diversity comes at a price. And therefore, its excessive increase in Finland would also have consequences.

A caliphate was demanded in Germany

Last Saturday, a demonstration was held in Hamburg, demanding the establishment of a caliphate in Germany. Joe Adade Boateng, the leader of the organizing Muslim Interaktiv organization, stated in his speech that a caliphate would be the best way to correct the image of Muslims portrayed in the media.

The incident unpleasantly evoked memories of the events in Syria and Iraq 2010´s, where the authoritarian rule of Muslims violated all possible human rights. This is despite the fact that in Germany in 2020, there were "only" 5.5 million Muslims, which is just under seven percent of the population.

However, the number of Muslims living in Germany is rapidly increasing, and it is estimated to grow to as much as twenty percent by the mid-century. Germany, however, is not the only European country with a large Muslim population. Sweden serves as an extreme example, with approximately one million Muslims, projected to constitute around thirty percent of the population by 2050.

It remains to be seen whether Muslims will adapt to secularized European societies or whether they will engage in conflict, as indicated by last Saturday's march. Additionally, how the rapidly aging, low-birth-rate, and consequently shrinking native population of the continent will react to their increasing numbers is a question for the future.

Violent demographic changes in Denmark

People are well aware that after Europeans discovered America, they displaced indigenous populations, especially in North America, within a few centuries. A similar development was seen in Australia and New Zealand.

These facts are sometimes referenced in discussions about the migration of people from developing countries to Europe, with claims that it will alter the entire demographic structure of the region.

On the other hand, this view is vehemently denied, especially within political leftist circles, and dismissed as a product of imagination. However, the fact remains that, for instance, in Sweden, the number of people arriving from developing countries has grown to such an extent that the government faces challenges in maintaining order in many residential areas.

In connection with this, it was interesting to read a study that investigated prehistoric changes in the population structure of Denmark. The study describes a genetic analysis conducted on ancient human remains spanning 7 300 years, including the Mesolithic, Neolithic, and Early Bronze Age.

The researchers used shotgun-sequenced genomes from 100 skeletons and integrated the genetic data with information on diet, mobility, and vegetation cover. As a result, they showed that Mesolithic individuals in Denmark formed a distinct genetic cluster related to other Western European hunter-gatherers and exhibited genetic homogeneity from around 10 500 to 5 900 years ago.

The arrival of Neolithic farmers with Anatolian-derived ancestry occurred around 5 900 years ago, causing a significant population turnover. This transition was abrupt, with limited genetic contribution from local hunter-gatherers, and therefore probably violent.

The Neolithic population associated with the Funnel Beaker culture persisted for approximately 1 000 years until immigrants with eastern Steppe-derived ancestry arrived, causing another rapid population replacement. This gave rise to the Single Grave culture, whose ancestry profile was more similar to present-day Danes.

Therefore, it is clear that population replacements in North America, Australia, or New Zealand are not unique in history. Rather, it seems that the influx of people to a particular region easily leads to the destruction of entire population groups. Hence, this alternative should not be dismissed with a mere shrug but rather taken into account when planning and implementing European immigration policies.
