Activism Without Truth

Politically left-wing Palestine activists seem to have an exceptionally poor grasp of facts. The latest example of this came yesterday, when Palestine Action Finland defaced the office of the Norwegian-Finnish ammunition and weapons manufacturer Nammo with red paint, claiming that the company had participated in Israel’s actions in Gaza by supplying weapons and ammunition to its army.

In reality, Nammo has not supplied weapons or ammunition to the Israeli army since it began its operations in Gaza to root out Hamas terrorists. The Nammo products currently in Israel originated from the United States, to which they were sold in 2008. About 15 years later, they made their way from the U.S. to Israel.

This raises the question: what should we think of people who resort to acts of terror without even bothering to check whether their so-called justifications are true? Not to mention that through their actions, these activists effectively showed support for the very terrorist act that started the war.

Likewise, this group of people seems unaware—or fails to grasp the significance—of the fact that Western countries have supported the Palestinians with massive sums of money over the years, much of which has been used to support terrorist activities, such as the construction of an extensive tunnel network in Gaza. For that reason, they cannot be considered blameless in the current suffering of the region’s inhabitants.

Why Is Keir Starmer Commissioning an Inquiry Instead of Taking Action?

From the perspective here in Finland, it seems strange that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, has decided to commission an investigation into grooming gangs. This is because the existence of these gangs and their ethnic composition have been known in Finland for a long time already.

For example, I first wrote (in Finnish) about the subject back in 2017, that is, about eight years ago. At the time, I specifically stated that "the worst known case is probably the Rotherham rape ring, which operated in the UK for 16 years and was covered up by the authorities for years out of fear of being labeled racist."

Since then, I have continued to write about the topic. The following year, in 2018, I brought up a prostitution ring that had operated in Telford, England, for decades, "which may have had up to a thousand child victims, mostly from the native population."

In other words, the Asian grooming gangs in the UK—and the related issues with authorities—have been quite well known to us Finns for a long time. And we are also aware that Keir Starmer's administration tried to sweep the matter under the rug by blaming those who aimed to draw official attention to child rapists.

An example of this is my own English-language article, in which I stated: "this is why it is necessary to ask the people of Britain and the world—especially those who see far-right extremism and racism everywhere—why they consider violent protests acceptable in the case of George Floyd, but not in response to the child murders that have shocked the United Kingdom?"

So, if there is no ambiguity here in Finland about the existence or composition of the UK’s grooming gangs, then why on earth is Keir Starmer only now—in the summer of 2025—starting to take action... excuse me, ordering an investigation into the matter? Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to ensure that there is no room for such gangs in British society in the future?

Military confrontation between China and USA highly probable in near future

For over half a century, China has wanted to incorporate the independent island of Taiwan - which remained so after the civil war - into itself. However, it has been unable to do so because the militarily superior USA has declared that it will intervene in such an act.

Nevertheless, China has become increasingly strong economically and militarily over the decades, leading it to once again assert its claim to the island. These claims have been emphasized by military displays in the waters around Taiwan.

In a recent interview, Finnish expert on international politics Risto E.J. Penttilä said that he believes there will be some kind of military confrontation between the USA and China in the near future. This could mean, for example, a collision between two aircrafts or something similar.

However, it is clear that there are not yet the elements of a major war. Instead, it is clear that the USA and China are in a cold war with no end in sight. And we can only hope that it will not turn into a hot war at some point e.g. due to a human error.

If an actual war is avoided, the question arises as to when the cold war will end. In my own estimation, it will end if China is able to become militarily stronger than its rival, which would allow it to incorporate Taiwan into itself. If this does not happen - and the USA remains stronger - the cold war will eventually thaw as China declares that economic cooperation is more sensible than continuing the cold war due to a reluctant island nation.

Military advice: Ukraine needs modern tanks

Russia did not keep peace in Ukraine during their Christmas-time although they made such a promise. Obviously, that was not even a purpose, but some kind of propaganda action directed towards ordinary Russians by enabling dictator Putin to blame Ukrainians for not respecting holy religious values. 

Yesterday a retired Finnish general Pekka Toveri reminded that Ukraine needs modern military material from the Western countries in order to enable them to push the invaders out of their country. Right now - after giving up-to-date air defense materials and light tanks - battle tanks should be provided to Zelenskiy´s army. 

The General proposed that 300 to 400 Leopard tanks would make a difference, but also any other modern tank superior to Russian equipment would do. Leopards are, however, best available in Europe.

The problem may turn out to be a permission needed from Germany - where Leopards are made - which has shown weakness throughout the war in its willingness to help Ukrainians. Fortunately, however, Germans have slowly started to realize that help for the defender is not an aggression towards Russia but an obligatory self defense action to secure democracy and values in Europe. 

If Europeans including Germany will follow General´s suggestion, they will send the necessary number of battle tanks to Ukraine, and train crews for them. As a result, Ukraine would have enough power to push out Russians from the occupied areas in eastern and southern parts of the country. 

The alternative for providing tanks to Ukraine would be an enormous number of dead Ukrainian and Russian soldiers - and Ukrainian civilians - in a slowly progressing war reminding us on the horrors of the World War I, during which the defense lines of neither side could be broken, but human lives were lost in an unfathomable rate.

So, it is up to us Europeans to decide, whether we will defend democracy and save human lives in the war of Ukraine. Or in other words, whether we will provide the Russian dictator a clear sign to stop his attack against our values - and save both Ukrainians and Russian soldiers from paying with their lives our inability to make difficult decisions.

In Finland there is no problem in understanding this. According to the chairman of the defense committee of its parliament, Finland is ready to participate - but only as part of a European action.
